Marataba Villa sits on the banks of the Matlabas River in the malaria free Marakele National Park in the Waterberg, about four hours from Johannesburg. It is booked as a whole by one group: four luxury tents along the river, each with a private deck and outdoor shower, around a central lodge with open plan dining and lounge, a pool deck, a fire deck and a boma. It sleeps up to 10, 8 adults and 2 children, with a dedicated team including a concierge and a chef, and your own safari vehicle and FGASA accredited field guide.
The days run to your timetable: two game drives a day, bush walks, water safaris on the Matlabas River, stargazing and bush dinners, with Mack & Madi activities and childminding for younger guests. Meals, selected local drinks, laundry, spa treatments and transfers from the Thabazimbi airstrip are included.
