Etali Safari Lodge sits in the malaria free Madikwe Game Reserve in the North West, about five hours from Johannesburg and 90 minutes from Gaborone, with daily flights from OR Tambo to the Madikwe East airstrip, 20 minutes away. It is home to the Big Five, wild dog and cheetah.
The lodge is small, with eight suites and room for no more than 16 guests. Every suite has a private heated plunge pool on a large deck, a wood-burning fireplace, a claw-foot bath and an outdoor shower. Meals are served on the main deck, the Phomolo mezzanine or in the boma above the waterhole, and the kitchen has been kosher for more than 20 years.
