The stylish Safari Lodge is secretly hidden in indigenous bush. It is a romantic thatched lodge with luxury safari huts inspired by African tribal design. Each hut is complete with a private plunge pool and a small private lounge area. Large beds are draped with mosquito nets, sparkling wine sits on ice alongside a bath filled with aromatherapy scented bubbles making this a favorite for honeymooners and the romantic at heart. Deserving of every one of its four stars, Safari Lodge sleeps 22 fortunate guests in 11 well- appointed and richly furnished suites. Awe-inspiring game-viewing opportunities are all but guaranteed from your comfortable perch atop the lodge's dedicated Land Rover. Expert game rangers’ track and guide guests through the surrounding valleys and bush where the Big 5 go about their daily lives in perfect balance.

Back at the main lodge, sweeping decks provide the perfect vantage from which to spot the roaming game. All the while, the resident chef and his team ensure that the guest's begin their days with the very finest cuisine that the bush has to offer (sustainable and healthy, of course).

A few moments respite as you retreat to your own private lounge or lose time in your suite's plunge pool, outdoor shower or intimate bubble bath. Spoilt for choice has a whole new meaning.

Game Drives

2-night package:
This package comprises two afternoon game drives including snacks and a sundowner and two early morning game drives including coffee and a muffin.

Tuskers 3-Day Safari:
This package comprises three afternoon game drives on the Reserve including snacks and a sundowner.

A morning game drive into nearby Addo Elephant National Park, an area renowned for having the highest density of African Elephants in the world, is included in this package. Now with Big 5 status, a visit to the park makes for a very exciting morning. Two further morning drives are in the Reserve.



Big 5 Wilderness Walk

Walking trails with a FGASA accredited Professional Trails Guide as well as a Specialist Birding Guide (SKS Birding Thicket Biome) offers guests the opportunity to get off the beaten track and follow the myriad of elephant and rhino trails that crisscross this ancient landscape. Lucky walkers might even get the opportunity to track and view some of these African leviathans. No less important and even more interesting are the countless small creatures and their tracks and signs that may be encountered on foot.

Horse Trails

Amakhala Horse Trails caters for small groups of up to 6 intermediate to experienced riders. Experienced younger riders between 10 and 15 years old may also join, if accompanied by a parent or guardian. Horseback safaris typically last between two to three hours, and the speed of the trail ride is adjusted to the riders’ level of experience. This allows plenty of time for wildlife viewing and finding the perfect spot to rest the horses and enjoy refreshments and snacks.
